Winter Festival

The Victorian Bands’ League, in conjunction with Fine Music, are pleased to announce the addition of a new event on the 2022 banding calendar – Winter Festival! Scheduled to take place on Saturday June 25th, this event is open to all brass and concert bands, with discount entry fees available for VBL Members.

Bands are required to put together and perform a 30 minute program that includes at least one work with a solo, one work by an Australian composer and one major work. These can overlap, so your major work could also be the work that features a soloist. 

The focus of the event is band development and feedback, with no graded sections or places. However, there are the following prizes available:

• Best Soloist
• Best performance of an Australian work
• Most entertaining item
