Development Opportunities - 2019


The Victorian Bands' League is delighted to announce our partnership with Maestros With a Mission to provide several development opportunities in 2019 and beyond. We believe that the nurturing and consolidation of skills and the development of potential and capacity in our people with stengthen community banding into the future.

The VBL will provide financial support to assist individuals who are registered with the VBL to attend these events and gain knowledge that will be beneficial to both the individual participants and their bands.

Here are the first two developmental projects (there will be others announced later):

  • Adjudication Intensive Workshop - Saturday 2nd - Sunday 3rd February with Darebin City Brass - Preston Band. This workshop will explore the complex issues around adjudication and feature mock adjudication performances and mentoring from experienced adjudicators.
  • Conducting Intensive Workshop - Saturday 16th - Sunday 17 March with Geelong Concert Band. This entry-level conducting workshop with live ensemble and two experienced conductor mentors.

Interested persons should read the linked information for Participants, and complete the enclosed Application Form. Applicants will be evaluated and the VBL Executive Council will determine offers and the extent of financial support to be offered to applicants.
